I want to take this time to thank you.

To thank you for reading, for engaging, for sending love. I learn new things daily from all your comments and kitchen stories! I honestly could’ve never foreseen the sharing community of food-loving peeps that gnom-gnom has grown to become in this past year. And I’ll forever be thankful to you, for it.

The internet really does provide a wonderful flow of information that knows no bounds. And so, in keeping our sharing motto here at gnom-gnom, a handful of the recipes from the book will be published throughout the summer months (think 4 or 5).

It makes me happier than I could ever describe to read all your comments and pictures, and will always strive to make the recipes available to all. And I’m sure you guys will love the videos planned, and all the exciting (and scrumptious!) recipes that are to come this summertime.

xo! Paola

  1. Bev says:

I have done some reading about keto and I am not sure I can believe the hype. But I really want to believe it. I have over a hundred pounds to loose and I was wondering if your book cover how keto works? How to get started on keto? If not can you advise me on a reputable website?

    • Heather Hinson says:

Pardon me for butting in. Bev, Keto isn’t hype it’s very much based in science. It not only sheds pounds but the way you feel on it is life changing. There is a wealth of info online but for a clear explanation that’s easy to understand look up Dr. Berg on YouTube. He has lots of videos explaining many aspects of keto. I’ve lost a lot and am still going. Feel free to email me if you need a friend to help you start!
Just so it’s clear I’m not selling anything nor am I a doctor. I am on keto FOR LIFE and love to help people discover how amazing this way of eating is.
Sorry Paola if my answering was rude. I adore you and your blog and meant no offense!!

  2. Kandace Thompson says:

I am going to be making your tres leches cake tomorrow for my husbands 40th birthday party.. That is his favorite cake! Is there a whey protein you suggest? Do I get vanilla or unflavored?? Thank you!!

    • Paola says:

Hi Kandace!! I use the unflavored Isopure brand (I would always get unflavored!). xo and hope you enjoy (ps do allow it ample time to soak up the milk!) xo!

    • Paola says:

Yay!! It’s coming asap (had a few hiccups with the site this week so I decided to postpone the launch, keep posted next week ;)!)

  3. Roxann Selby says:

Please Paola please please please publish a cookbook!!! Not just summer stuff ALL of your stuff break it off into season if you want for bettering sales but if you made any physical cookbook that is available through Chapters Indigo I would be one of the first to purchase it!!!

  4. Debby Konecny says:

I do like cookbooks in the ebook format….
however, will you ever make this into a regular hardcover (soft cover) format?
I’d love to be able to purchase it that way, first and foremost.
    I absolutely love your recipes!
All I’ve tried so far have been fabulous!!
Sure wish it was available in more than just the ebook format, however.

  5. Felix H. Rodriguez says:

I truly have to say you are God’s blessing to many of us on the keto diet. What you’ve done and continue to do is invaluable. Speaking for myself, with many physical health, your recipes bring variety along with good health that hopefully will help me get back to being healthy; however, I do have a recipe request. Would you be able to make into keto an italian classic, Pizza Rustica? If so, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for the recipes you’ve developed and the future ones that you’ve yet to do.

  6. Tamara says:

Hi Paola! Big fan of your site. Have made many dishes but it’s my first time commenting. You are really bringing back joy to foodies like me who love to cook, who loves food and who has gone keto. So thank you! Oh and please please please come out with a new Christmas cookbook! Looking forward to making your eggnog this year. And more noodle recipes are so appreciated. Your pad Thai recipe rocks! Have an awesome Fall!

  7. Maggie says:

    Dear Paola!

You are so wonderful!! Thank you for all of the delicious and beautiful recipes!! Thank you for the care you put into everything you do! Such a joy!!

  8. Libby says:

Love, love, love your recipes and this cookbook! Will you be creating more cookbooks? I’d love one with fall/winter recipes! Just made the carrot cake cupcakes and oh my goodness!

  9. Tiffany says:

I just purchased your cookbook, but every time I try to download the pdf it says site not secure and doesn’t download 🙁
I don’t want to blow through my limited attempts by continuing to try. Is there any other way I can receive my pdf? THANK YOU!

  10. Jon Rueter says:

Dear Paola, thank you so much for sharing your enormous talent with the world. I am only too happy to be able to purchase this cookbook to support the hard (and delicious) work you do. I identify primarily as a baker in terms of the culinary arts 🙂 but love cooking everything. What I love most are your baked goods and desserts and the complexity and texture you manage to achieve! I started eating low carb/lazy keto about 10 months ago and am perfectly fine accepting some tradeoffs in taste and texture in exchange for the many, many benefits of cutting the carbs. However, now that tradeoff margin is razor thin! Your biscuits OMG, your tortillas! The list goes on – your mayo is a recent fave – oh, and the coffee ice cream! I’m in love!!! Ha ha. And if I may… I’d love to put in a request for a salted caramel ice cream one of these days! Feel guilty asking for anything when you have given us so much. Anyway, thanks again, you wizard! My husband and I love your creations. There are many great sites out there who I also love and frequent, but you are at the top of the heap, Paola!

  11. Sheila Durnil says:

Do any of the recipes need adjusted for High Altitude cooking? We are at 5000+ and some things do not lift, rise, or cook the same as they did when at lower levels.

    • Paola says:

Hi Sheila! I’m currently in Mexico City (12-13,000 ft!) so no need to worry- all the recipes work for high altitudes (a lot of readers from Colorado comment frequently) xo!

      • Patsy Sturrock says:

I’ve just downloaded my purchased copy of your book, but I can only see one page, with 3 lines of print. Can you suggest a solution?

  12. Kathy says:

You’re my new go-to gal for delicious, trustworthy recipes. So glad I found you!!! Thank you for giving us delicious, non-eggy deliciousness!!! I hate that other stuff!!

  13. Laura Eldred says:

I thought I purchased your cookbook but must have deleted the download. Would you please resend it to me?

  14. Kay says:

Hello Love! i am enjoying my ebook, that cone recipe was da bomb and barbecue sauce is on point(minus oregano…lol)…I have tried many other recipes as well, one behooves me though…I cant seem to get my chips to “puff” .They become concave on one side but never creating the puff you have in the photos.. 🙁

    • Paola says:

Hi Kay! So awesome to hear you’re enjoying the book 🙂 Regarding the chips, it’s happened to a few readers before and usually what solves the puffing issue is to decrease the water (large eggs or various brands simply absorb water different- coconut flour is notorious for this). So try either eliminating the water completely or just adding 1 tsp! Hope this helps! xo

  15. Lorie Cooper says:

Thank you thank you! Your recipes are so easy to follow and so darn good! As I continue the ketogenic life I look forward to tasteful yet easy recipes. You have won the medal!!!
I’m always looking and waiting for you to post new recipes.
    Thanks again,

  16. LAURA V says:

    Hola paola

Me encantan tus recetas.

  17. DB says:

How many of the recipes require the use of an oven? Just hate the way it heats up our whole apartment so I want to avoid using the oven in summer if possible!

    • Paola says:

Hi DB! I just did a quick count and about 17 require an oven (mainly the baked goods). Some you can do on the grill instead (roasted aubergines can be grilled for instance). xo!

  18. Sharon says:

I have just received your Keto summer e-cookbook. Recipes look great & I am excited to try some of them. I have one question-you say that you can probably substitute the flaxseed meal with psyllium husk powder–when doing that it the measurement 1:1 ex. 1/4 cup flaxseed meal = 1/4 psyllium husk powder. I do not use flaxseed or chia due to much controversy in the keto community. I have tried many of your recipes and I have had very good results with them. Just made graham crackers last week for the grandchildren & they loved them. Also make your cinnamon toast cereal all the time for them. Thanks for all your hard work and willingness to share your recipes with others.

  19. rebecca ferrier says:

    Hi Paola!
Your recipes are fantastic! I know that I can make anything from your website and it will be perfected to deliciousness! Our current favorite is your peanut butter choc chip cookies, which we make every week and gobble them up! I’m buying your book today, can’t wait! Please keep up the good work! Xx rebecca

  20. Liz says:

Wow, thanks so much for developing such tasty and close to the ‘real’ food recipes. My husband has really missed bread so to be able to make your yeast bread has been AMAZING. I doubled the recipe to make it the size of a bread loaf tin. Can’t thank you enough. So great to have pasta with our meals too. What brilliant mind you have. The chocolate cake was just divine. Looooooove your recipes. Thank you so much.

  21. Sara says:

I’m a fairly new subscriber to your blog but I already printed out a handful of recipes and flagged another handful to print out in the future. Today I saw this flash sale, read about your cookbook, and decided to order it. By the way, your blog posts are like cerebral snacks…the writing style is as decadent and yummy and as nourishing and creative as your recipes look. (I haven’t yet made any of the recipes, but I’m getting the ingredients ready to take when I visit some relatives soon.) Additionally, thank-you so much for including the Fun Facts, tips, and caveats. I rarely EVER follow a recipe to the letter, and the helps will steer me toward a successful outcome.

  22. Kathy says:

    HI Paola
New to your site but what I’ve seen I really like and even though I’m not Keto or Paleo but am doing low carb high fat they will be great. I see that it indicates PayPal and didn’t go any further as I don’t use PayPal (bad experience). Also assume this is US dollars (I live in Canada) so assume the exchange rate is added as well.
Looking forward to more great recipes….

  23. Karen Mayrand says:

I just wanted to let you know that I purchased your cookbook. It’s as beautiful and tempting as I expected. I am also very happy to support you because I think your recipes are by far the best keto recipes out there. I greatly appreciate what you have provided. I hope your next cookbook will include a few more vegetarian Mains since good keto main course dishes are really the most difficult to find for vegetarians (and though I might like to, I cannot live on cake alone) and I know anything you create will be outstanding. Some that are in the book could just include tofu or paneer in addition to the meat options like the salmon skewers or the pad Thai. I love that there is a barbecue sauce recipe. I will definitely try it on tofu. Thank you!

  24. Kay says:

I am still reeling that I can eat bread again!! Also the first thing I am going to try from my e-book is that cone recipe with your super creamy chocolate ice cream only it’ll be mint chocolate chip…lol

Thank you so much for sharing your food journey with us!

  25. Karen M. says:

I think your blog and recipes are the absolute best Keto recipes on the Internet. I was wondering if you could tell me how many of the recipes in the new cookbook are vegetarian. Dairy is okay, just not meat, chicken, fish or gelatin. Thanks so much.

    • Paola says:

Hi Karen! Wow thanks so much, means a lot to hear you enjoy the recipes so much! Regarding your question, 45 out of the 60 recipes are vegetarian. So breakfast, entrees and desserts- but most of the mains aren’t. xo!

  26. Carol says:

Hi Paola, I love the new cookbook as well as your other recipes; you aware very talented. Are you planning to do a series of seasonal cookbooks? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that’s the case. A question for you, I get you used seasonal ingredients but why are so many of them using the oven? I would have loved to see some using the BBQ. It’s just a question, sorry if it sounds critical I don’t mean for it to. Keep up the good work!

    • Paola says:

Hi Carol! So happy you’re enjoying the cookbook! There will be a couple more in the works ;). And regarding your question, it was a deliberate decision not to include too many grill-only recipes. This is simply because you’d be surprised by the amount of peeps that don’t own a grill, and I didn’t want them to purchase the book and not be able to make 1/4 of the recipes. So while you can grill a bunch of the recipes, you can also whip them up in your stove top. I hope this makes sense and hope it wasn’t too disappointing! xo and thank you for your comment!

  27. Sarah says:

I am so excited to receive this cook book! All of the recipes look so delicious!! I didn’t know that I only had limited times to open it though so I ran out without knowing and had to re-purchase the book. Either way I’m very satisfied with my purchase(s) and am looking forward to making some delicious low carb food!!

    • Paola says:

Hi Sarah! So happy you’ve enjoyed it! The ecookbook copy is yours forever no need to repurchase! It sounds like you exceeded the number of downloads from the host, but I’ll send you copies again (email me to!) xo!

  28. Jacqueline Ferra says:

    Hi Paola

A few weeks ago I started to live completely without gluten/ wheat and sugar. Since about 1.5 weeks I have switched to keto and my metabolism is still in the adaptation phase. But I am enthusiastic about the great variety of extremely tasty recipes and alternatives. I love your recipes and all the evenings and weekends I nearly spend my whole free time in the kitchen 🙂 I’m from Switzerland and so certain products are unfortunately not available here or incredibly expensive…but I make my way through by improvising Keto-like -)
I’d be so happy to get a book from you. Is it available in shops too or can I order it only on your site? How much will be delivery to Switzerland? My husband will be in America soon and I’m preparing a shopping list for him 🙂 Beside Swerve and Xantan Gum there is also your book! So I just wonder if he can get it in a shop there or if we have to order online and deliver to a friend in the US to save up delivery and customs duties.
Thanks again for all these wonderfull tasty recipes.
    Kind regards from Switzerland, Jacqueline

    • Paola says:

Hi Jacqueline! I’m sorry to have missed your comment earlier! Regarding your issue with ingredients, I get you completely because I live in Mexico! Have you checked out though? I have another reader from Switzerland who reported back on buying all her ingredients from there too! I hope this helps xo!

otherwise I also load up my suitcase with US goodies 😉

  29. Orla says:

    Hey Paola,

So delighted to find you on Pinterest. I’ve been working through your recipes & love them. Just finished the last slice of the sandwich bread & gearing up to make another batch. I’m going to try source a good health food store (Australia nsw ) where I can buy the quality flours. But hey, so far so good with the ones I have😊.

  30. Conny Becker says:

Oh my goodness. How strange is that . I just had a look again to the ebook and what should I say it’s ill there😁. Isn’t strange?! So at least all is good now. Blackberries out from the freezer I start to bake now. Thanks for all your work spacial without dairy we all allergic to that.
    Regards Conny

  31. Conny Becker says:

Hello Paola. I was so excited to bake the BlackBerry scones i bought already all and how sad is that the ingredients where not there anymore. 😭I can only read how to do. I really don’t now what happend. My hubby was looking for the email with the download and as well this he can’t find it. It’s really sad. What can we do now. I don’t know how do put a picture In this email otherwise I can show you how it looks. I hope so you can help me. I put now the BlackBerry in the freezer now .
Sorry about my English. I’m a German living in south Africa.
    Regards Conny

  32. GIRL. FRIEND. 142 pages of purrrre amazingness. I didn’t excpet it to be so FULL, you outdid yourself. I’m tempted to print it and put it in it’s own special binder <3 🙂

    • Paola says:

Lol Avalon thank you!! This is so wonderful to hear and thank you for your support, means a lot! 🙂

  33. Philip says:

Great book! It’s also the first keto book I’ve purchased which doesn’t have a single recipe with bacon and only one cream cream cheese. Such a welcome change! Easily the best keto recipes I’ve made

  34. Carolyn says:

Paola, I love everything about gnom gnom and like you, my keto came out of medical necessity. Look forward to all posts and recipes. I purchased the Summer Cookbook through PayPal and cannot find info for download. I was in travel when I made the purchase….can you resend information connected with my email account.

    • Paola says:

Hi Carolyn! Thank you for your comment, so happy to hear you’re enjoying the recipes! Would you mind shooting me an email to so I send you your ePub and PDF copies? I can no longer see your emails in the comments! xo and thank you for your support!

  35. Mia says:

I am going to get this book… thank you for your effort 🙂 I look forward to your daily emails, and hope that I will find a lot of gems in this book also 🙂

I know how hard you work.. I too am a keto recipe developer 🙂 🙂 (I’ll let you know when my site is ready to launch)… 🙂

  36. Anita Sue says:

Do a lot of the recipes have flaxseed or flaxmeal in them? There are different view on those two items, so I generally avoid them. I have used recipes with them but not lately since they are a little controversial in some groups. I just wondered the percentage that I wouldn’t use.

    • Paola says:

Hi Anita! 6 of the recipes have flax (the quick breads and cakes), but you can sub it with psyllium in all. Interesting what you mention about flax, and I think you are right that it’s an ingredient that works either great or badly for peeps. I’ve personally noticed much better digestion (also with psyllium), so I try to sub out as much of the nut flours as I can with it.

But you can always use psyllium as a sub in all the recipes. I just have a personal preference for the crumb with flax. xo!

  37. Stanley says:

Very nice book! The pictures are drooling-worthy, the recipes are as detailed as on the site, and there’s plenty of variety for all summer needs. If you’re going to do more cookbooks, could I request a Mexican one?! My partner and I have cooked through your entire Mexican arsenal and are mesmerized by how even your simple pico de gallo salsa is splendid. And we, of course, make your tortillas religiously even when having guests over.

  38. Stace K. Morgan says:

Reporting back on the ice cream cones! THEY’RE AMAZING! How on earth did you come up with that recipe Paola? There’s a slight cooling taste from the erythritol, but other than that it’s the same taste and crisp texture. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Thank you for such a wonderful book, we’re planning on cooking a few mains this week too! We love that you included more savory and Asian-type recipes recipes, the butter chicken and pad thai are two of our favorites from the site so we cannot wait to try the new ones. 🙂 God bless you for all your work!

  39. molly says:

Can’t I rate this like the recipes?! 5 stars for sure!! I made the key lime pie shake this morning already and I’m salivating even now thinking about it! You wonderful girl, this book is a must buy! Like others have said above me, thank you for all that you do.

  40. Christina says:

Oh what an amazing surprise to see this cookbook today on gnom-gnom! So excited about this. Thanks, Paola!

  41. Rae Schimmel says:

Have a lot of the recipes been featured in the weekly emails? I love your recipes and save them all! Thanks!

    • Paola says:

Hi Rae! That’s so awesome to hear thank you! And to answer your qs, 40 recipes are new for the book (the baked ice cream cones, strawberry shortbread, berry chicken, bbq ribs from scratch, an all new butter pie crust…). And 20 are summer favorites from the blog and yes, featured in the emails (such as the vanilla ice cream or graham crackers!). So the recipes from the blog I included are essentially solid summer favorites I already know you guys love. And I’ll probably share about 3 or 4 recipes from the book throughout the summer with some fun new videos 😉

  42. BRUNET Isabelle says:

Thank you Paola for all recipes and all the time that you spend on your great work! For sure i’ill Pay anytime for your great book to access all your summer treats but first of all to support and tell you keep up what you do! I’’m eating keto and don’t eat dairies and your work is like a treasure to me 🙂

    Sending you love and appreciation

    • Paola says:

Isabelle thank you so much for your support and taking the time to leave such a heartfelt comment, it really does mean a lot! Much love back your way and thank you for reading (and cooking!) 🙂

  43. Anna Foxley says:

Oh my gosh, I’m so excited. I’ve tried a few of your recipes, and have yet to be let down. Thank you so much for the awesome cookbook, hope there are more to come. 🙂

    • Paola says:

Not at all! Roughly 30 are savory, some are easy others more special (thank you for your question, I’ll clarify!) 😉

        • Clarissa Basham says:

I just recently was lucky enough to have your page pass through my Pinterest feed. I am beyond excited to try your recipes. I have many medical issues and I had gastric bypass almost 3yrs ago to help me lose weight and able to work on the other things that affected my quality of life.thank you,Clarissa

          • Paola says:

Clarissa thank you for your message, how wonderful to hear you’re enjoying the blog! All the best in your health journey also 🙂

  44. Emma Porter says:

    Dear Paola,

Congratulations on such a beautiful book! The recipes look stunning per usual and we’re already making the key lime pie milkshake for dessert right now! Thank you for all that you do, what a treat this is!

    All our love,

    Emma and Joseph
